longing and pain could easily belong to a wise and weary
30-year-old who's finally found an outlet in song. But there,
center stage, barefoot, long dark hair blowing in the breeze, is
Almira Fawn Southworth, 11. The bass she's playing extends easily a

Oftentimes a concert’s opening act is little more than background
music, but a crowd of several hundred at Greenfield Lake
Amphitheater on Friday treated Almira Fawn like she was the main
attraction. Almira, an 11-year-old singer and songwriter from
Lexington, Ky., was in Wilmington to open up for JJ Grey &
Mofro, a Florida band that sold out the 1,000-or-so seat
amphitheater.
